More infoAt LoadLok, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our newly developed car and truck transport straps, meticulously designed to meet the highest standards of safety and performance in vehicle transportation. With the latest VDI 2700 Blatt 8 regulations coming into effect on September 1st, 2024, our straps are not only compliant but also competitive in quality and price. In this blog post, we will walk you through the differences between our products, their unique features, and why they are the superior choice for your vehicle transport needs.
We have developed three types of transport straps to cater to different vehicle types and customer preferences:
All our straps are tested and certified by TÜV Süd according to the newest VDI 2700 Blatt 8 norm, which sets the standard for securing cargo safely and effectively. This regulation specifies the necessary STF-value, sleeve length, webbing elongation, and minimum lashing capacity, ensuring that our straps are among the safest on the market. Our straps boast a certified ETA-value of 0.5, which is the market standard, reflecting the efficiency of the force generated by the ratchet reaching the opposite side of the wheel.
A key feature of our transport straps is the GlideGuard Protection Sleeve, which is designed to cover at least half of the wheel surface to prevent damage during transport. The sleeve lengths are tailored to the type of strap:
These sleeves not only protect the wheels but also ensure the strap remains secure during transit, enhancing overall safety.
In addition to our standard straps, we offer a sleeve extension piece that is 40cm long and includes a Velcro fastener. This extension can be easily attached to the existing strap sleeve to provide additional coverage, particularly useful for vehicles with wheels larger than standard sizes. The Velcro attachment allows for quick and secure placement, making it a versatile accessory for any transport scenario.
For optimal safety, our straps should be used as illustrated:
This setup ensures maximum stability during vehicle transport. Although we recommend using one strap per wheel for safety, the exact number of straps needed depends on the vehicle's weight, strap angle, the number of chocks, and whether the vehicle has wheel recesses.
Adding these businesses to The Heico Companies’ portfolio will enhance its capacity to support the transportation and logistics sector both in Europe and worldwide.
